About Programme
The Political Science and International
Relations program, examines structures and functioning of political political
systems and processes, and interactions among the actors participating in
these processes at national and international levels. The aim of the program is to furnish our students with basic assumptions and theories of the Political Science and International Relations field and to raise qualified individuals who are able to critically monitor, analyze and investigate political and socio-economic developments around the world.

History
|
Department of International Relations was founded in 2010 within Mardin Artuklu University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, and the Department of Political Science and Public Administration was founded in 2011. In 2012 the two departments are combined into the Department of Political Science and International Relations. In the 2014-2015 academic year, the program began recruiting students for the English preparatory class.

Qualification Awarded
|
Students who graduate from the Department of Political Science and International Relations will be awarded with an undergraduate degree on “Political Science and International Relations”.

Admission Requirements
|
Students are admitted through centralized exams, conducted by ÖSYM.
|
Higher Grade Transition
|
Graduates who successfully completed their undergraduate degrees, provided that they receive an adaquate score on ALES and they have sufficient knowledge of foreign languages, can study in graduate programs.

Graduation Requirements
|
The student, to graduate from the program, is required to successfully complete the English preparatory class, to take 240 (ECTS) credits of theoretical and practical courses, to take 30% of the total course in English and to have a grade and a GPA determined by the University senate.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
|
Graduates of Political Science and International Relations have the opportunity to be employed in domestic and overseas public and private sector, in international organizations including, the United Nations and the European Union, in governmental agencies such as Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of EU Affairs, in academia and media organizations, civil society organizations, and in financial institutions, as administrators, researchers, consultants or academics.

Assessment and Grading
Exams comprise midterm exam, excuse exam, final exam, make-up exam, one course exam and examption exam.The final course grade is calculated by adding the midterm grade (30%) and the grade earned from the final exam (70%). Students are expected to earn at least 60 points from the total of these two exams and their make-ups.
